Going From Calcium Traces to Spikes

This unit focuses on understanding the link between observed calcium fluorescence and the underlying neural activity. It covers what neuronal spikes are and how they cause changes in calcium concentration, which are then recorded as fluorescence signals. Participants learn how to extract single-pixel traces and begin to interpret these time-series as indirect measures of spiking.
